.:: Behemoth - Live in Mexicali - July 27, 2006 ::.
In May we were notified that we would be one of the opening acts for Behemoth's show in Mexicali, BC, México. The other bands scheduled to appear in the show were Sothis and Job For A Cowboy. Job For A Cowboy cancelled due other duties, and they were replaced by Cellador. We arrived to Mexicali the day of the show, and went to the venue. Due to some backline problems Sothis had to play after Behemoth. We were the first band. We played 7 songs: 4 from "Dark In Glory" and 3 songs which will appear on the upcoming album. Then Cellador took the stage. I really liked their extreme power metal style influenced by DragonForce and Helloween. Guitarist Bill Hudson couldn't make it to the show due to some immigration problems, despite that Cellador stormed the stage: Solid drums, high pitched vocals and memorable melodies. Behemoth unleashed one of the most destructive live attacks I have ever witnessed: 12 cuts of aggressive black death metal \m/ The stage pressence of Behemoth was just overwhelming. All band members headbanged from the first riff to the last note. Seth and Orion trading vocals with Nergal gave the music a darker atmosphere. Inferno destroyed the drumkit with a tight and fast performance. I was extremely impressed by Behemoth's performance, pressence and attack, one of the best live bands in the metal world for sure. After some problems due to stage size and time schedules, Sothis took the stage with an impressive backline which included a Roland Virtual Drum Set. Sothis displayed their Dimmu Borgir inspired Symphonic Black Metal with a fiery attack and solid performance. We would like to thank to promoter Juan Carlos Domínguez, Cellador, Sothis, Behemoth, and all the cool people we met at the show, and everyone who supported us \m/
